I have seen so many young entrepreneurs and intelligent, experienced engineers come through the door with “great products that will change the way people and businesses function” and most of them fail. They fail because the mentality towards what a business should be and how it should be run is different now. Years ago when you opened a business you had fixed costs and you hustled each month to cover bills and grow so that you could do more than just cover bills soon. Technology is not an industry, in my opinion, it is a tool that is used to make an industry more efficient and effective… now I know this means that the production of these tools is an industry, but how many companies today really create tools and how many create cool crap that is dead in 6 months?

Investors use terms like “sexy” and “viral” and 22 year old CEOs use buzz terms like scalable, robust and enterprise but there is no meat to anything anyone is saying. No one asks “how do you make money, how quickly, how much, what are your CPCA…” oh and 22 and you are a CEO… really… get over yourself…

The illusion of success, the delusion of being the next Zuckerberg… are we fostering great minds or setting the next generation up for failure and disappointment?

“I’m likely to try to put this in a ludicrously fabricated historical context, the broad strokes of which I would’ve derived from a cursory reading of Wikipedia literally moments before going on air.”

Daily Show Correspondent, John Oliver, on how he will interpret last night’s election results.

Additionally, this is my new favorite GIF.

If I was a Phillies fan, this play would haunt me for ages.
Once Feliz realizes nobody is covering third, he should have chased down Damon like his pants were on fire. It’s Game 5 of the World Series and Feliz is taking a Sunday evening stroll down the third base line.
I don’t even like the Phillies and I wanted to strangle this guy.

From his postgame interview, it sounded like Damon was pretty confident he was a lot faster than Feliz. I think Feliz knew it too. I guess there is something to be said for trying, in case Damon trips and falls or something.

What is funny is that Feliz has a good sized rock in his hand. Chase him down and just pelt him in the back with everything you got. Maybe in the resulting melee you are able to tag Damon before he reaches the base. The plays of the game are ALL on Utley though- he was a nervous fielder psyching himself out on a 1st inning groundout (end result: Jeter scored) and “trying too pretty” double play turn on a slow runner to 2nd base. If Utley takes his time on these plays, the Yankees are down 4-2 (or 4-1, I don’t remember) going into the top of the 9th… then maybe those three runs don’t happen.

The Westboro Baptist Church protesters carried signs with such slogans as, “God Hates You” and “You Will Eat Your Babies.
‘Hate’ church’s protests draw curious in Hoboken - the amazing thing is that the group plans on protesting in front of the rough and tumble Jersey City high school in about 10 minutes. Not sure if the Westboro Baptist Church knows what it’s getting into - I might walk over with a camera.
